A friend of mine is leaving Korea this weekend and her school refuses to pay her. They told her a parent saw her smoking, so now she cannot be around the children. It doesn't really matter that she doesn't smoke.
They were supposed to pay her yesterday. As far as I know, this is illegal, so she could go to the police about it, right? She has dealt with the labour board already, but they just sent her back to work (when the school tried to fire her without any notice, in the 11th month).
Advice? What would be quick and effective (or close to it)? |

Police won't do shit. It's a "civil matter" much like all crime according to them. |

Call the labor board again. It's a scam and from all I've heard, labor is fed up with that game. |

go back to the labor board. they ARE fed up with it. I just won a huge settlement (with interest) from a hagwon that refused to pay my last payment for over a year. |

ATEK was set up to deal with situations just like this...why not become a member and seek their assistance? |

Put a sign around your neck and hang around in front of the school.
What you write on the sign will determine how quickly the pay comes. |
