It turns out I'm heading up the drama club in my school, so I need some plays or scenes. Most of the stuff I'm finding is too advanced for my students.

Just wondering if anyone else out there has done this before and knows of any good (and free...) resources?

Well, I've not done this exactly, but you could try finding a comic strip with some simple language and getting them to act that out-- it would save you having to explain a lot of stage directions, as they could just follow the pictures. Just do a search for 'ESL Comic Strips'... you find something.

If they're lower level, there shouldn't be too many demands being placed on them... and the story won't matter so much.

I"d have two recommendations.

1. Heungbu / Nolbu. All kids know the story. We have the ppt and audio story and teaching materials on EFL classroom . If your students are up to it, they can even write the script. I also have a video of this done by an elementary school

2. The little Mole. HERE is a play I wrote as an adaptation. Find the video with audio of the book on EFL Classroom . Most kids know this, quite popular in Korea and easy to do. Each student is an animal and has very few lines....only the mole has many but the lines are repetitive - "Did you do this on my head?"

Cheers,

DD

I did this play not too long ago with some elementary students.

There are a bunch there to choose from. The play turned out to be wonderful.
