|
|
I got bitched at yesterday by a passenger for sitting on an old-guy only seat from Macheon to Orgum (end of the line, for three subway stops). The subway car was practically empty anyway.
I wish I had some photos of every time I've seen an asian in New Zealand sitting on the disabled seats on busses and trains - noone ever gave[mod edit]. |

If the train was empty, why sit there unless you're asking to get yelled at?
I avoid those seats, personally. Can't stand the smell of old people. |

You guys are forgetting that musty "dirt" undertone they always carry with them. If I have a choice, I never sit down next to any Korean over the age of 35. I either sit with someone between the ages of 15-34 or I stand. |

35 seems like a good cut off point to me. I usually ask them if they are 35 or older..if so I make them move seats.
Just messing with you man...I actually really like your posts. |

It annoys me when old people sit in the regular seats and the carriage is packed, leaving the priority seats empty and younger people standing up.
We should be able to bitch at them for not sitting in the correct seats. |

You probably are too strong to be seated there.
You better look vey sick and tired.
There were several times, I just stood by the old people seats and some grandma and grandpa asked me to sit with them, which of course I wouldnt do, I later thought it might be due to me looking dying |

Just a cranky old person. I avoid them, myself, but there's no moral problem with what you did, provided there were no old people eye-balling the seat as if it were the last piece of kimchi. |

In about 6 months I'll be officially qualified to sit in those seats. I plan to carry a thick hefty cane to whack the young and the ignorant over the head just for being self-righteous and stupid. And just for general all-round uselessness. Whoever made the comment about 35 is about right. It takes at least 35 years for someone with potential to become interesting. Most don't even have the potential.

I wonder if they`ll bitch and crow at a white elderly person who tries to sit in those seats? |

Are you sure they weren't sitting there because they needed to be there? If they are the same people griping that you aren't supposed to sit there when the place is empty, then yes they do belong there. Here's the reason: PRIORITY doesn't mean exclusion, it means first dibs. If you're sitting there and an old person goes to sit down, even if there are plenty of other seats, you're obliged to move your butt out of there.

That's a no brainer. The sign says priority seat in Korean, so it's only for Koreans |

I would have just stood up and limped away, dragging my left foot behind me. |
