I've got 0 gauged ears, which are little holes in my earlobes, sorta big, but they shrink when I take out earings. Is this a problem to Koreans in general? Work? I can take them out and there are little holes, or I can put in flesh colored plugs that make them really hard to see. Any thoughts as to the reaction I would get for this? I know they are said to be somewhat conservative.
Also I have a smalish tatoo on the inside of my left wrist, that you can't see with long sleeves or with a watch turned backward. Would this be a problem? Its not like a pentagram or a naked lady so its not offensive, its just a simple black peruvian hieroglph (sp?).
I am by no means a biker looking long haired dude, but I just want to gauge what you think the reaction would be.
thanks! |

The tattoo probably won't be a problem, the ears maybe. Sorry can't give a better answer. If you are in seoul, less likely to be a problem, if you are outside the big city it probably will be. Can you see them in your application photo? I would leave holes in foe rhe photo, just so that if you get there, they can't say you where hiding it |

I sure wouldn't want them at my (fairly conservative) private-public school. At some kids academies they'd probably be all right, though. |

You're fine. I've seen guys and girls at public schools and hogwans that have dozens of piercings and/or tattoos up to their chin. Of course, some schools are conservative but here in Korea, I find they are a lot more accepting of it. No worries. |

I work at a hagwon, and I have a tattoo on my wrist which I keep covered with a bracelet. OUr contract says no tattoos or piercings, but i have a co-worker with a small nose piercing, and nothing have ever been said about it. |
