Has anybody got any interesting stories?

Eg. Been asked for an autograph?

. Stranger asking you out on a date?

Im coming to Korea in April and by the sounds of it, these things could happen.

I was pissing in a toilet at a bar in Changwon when a Filipino standing at the urinal next to me introduced himself and wanted to shake my hand while we were both pissing.

a little bit off topic

But related to the urinal/willy watcher.

I was at Gangnam station last weekend and entered the washroom. The urinals are right in the entrance's sight line, so when you walk into the washroom, the first thing you see is the urinal and the person standing there peeing, side view.

I walked in and I see a Korean dude, pretty average size, finishing up his business and doing the "shakes". My eye sight isn't great, but I swear, the guy must have had a 12 inch dong. I didn't want to be rude and stare, so I could have been mistaken and what I saw might have been his flesh coloured belt. But boy did my ego take a beating that day.

I suggest basing your self-worth on more than your *beep* size. http://www.medgadget.com/archives/penises.png

1st year here:
Was walking on a sidewalk, coming back from the US embassy, when I felt a pair of hands on my hips. I twirled around to see what was going on. Saw an ajjuma (spelling?) behind me. For the briefest moment I thought that perhaps my skirt had been twisted and she was fixing it. I asked my Korean friend what she was doing. He talked to her, then yelled at her. She said that she sold women for a living, and wanted to know if I was Russian. (I guess you can tell if a woman is Russian by grabbing their hips.) Flabbergasted, I turned and yelled at her, "Migook saram im nida!"

I have been asked many times if I am Russian, and have even been offered money, but that is the only time that someone has actually checked out the goods. Shocked

Yesterday a kindergartener asked me why my hair was yellow (as in blonde) and when I explained to her (with the help of another korean teacher) that it was like that when I was a baby, she and her classmates were shocked.

My first day here the vice principal took me to another school to watch an English teacher. On the way home she said, "My car is hungry," and then pulled into the gas station. That same day my co-teacher informed me that my computer was "made of korean."

Also, I know it's not super amusing when your kid makes a mistake, but I thought it was hilarious when a student wrote, "He is a clod," instead of, "He has a cold" on a worksheet.

At a school get together my vice principal took my hand and made me dance with him. Not dance in the American sense like "dance next to me on the floor," but more of the Patrick Swayze kind of dirty dancing Shocked
