This story makes me sick! (something they could do with doing) - bar eating a normal diet + exercise!

So how would you class these people? Yeah you don't know their BMI but just at a glance.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1162503/The-real-telly-tubbies-X-Factor-failures-83-stone-family-claim-simply-fat-work.html

This sort of shi* pisses me off soooo much. When I was at uni I did a summer job working for a supermarket. A couple of people were so fat they couldn't stand up for more than 5 minutes. They couldn't even work on the checkouts because they couldn't fit under them!!!!

The most upsetting thing was one of them was only 17! Meanwhile I have to pay my taxes (when in the UK) to feed them! Sad

That's retarded. I've known people bigger than them who could work fine. Of course they're not going to get out from in front of the TV when the government is giving them 22'000 pounds a year to sit around on their arses.

the article wrote:
Asked why they dont simply go on a diet, the jobless Chawner family who are so obese their neighbours call them the telly tubbies insist: We dont have the time.

the article wrote:
Mr Chawner said: We love TV. Its on from the moment we get up. Often Im so tired from watching TV I have to have a nap.

Don't have the time for a diet, eh? Hereditary my ass.

The family claim to spend 50 a week on food, including chocolate, chips and pies, and consume 3,000 calories each a day. The recommended maximum intake is 2,000 for women and 2,500 for men.

Viva the welfare state.

In retrospect, the whole thing seems like an Onion article.

A note for anyone not from the UK. This article is from the Daily Mail -they arent the biggest fans of Labour!

But as for the mind your own business reply - that's a fair comment but how can it be right that people get given money for eating and crapping?

They have no real medical condition that will stop them from working!

I used to catch the same bus as people who had REAL, REAL disabilities - the sort of people who with the best will in the world could not work in a mainstream environment.

The local council had a special unit where they went to work and basically made the minimum wage. They worked in a simple assembly line.

But a couple of years ago they closed it because it wasn't 'economically feasible'. These people were crying because they could no longer work!

The short fall in employing 20-30 people with these serious disabilities was about 150,000 pounds, an amount that 7-8 of these types of families earn in a year! Sad

And you can be sure that the NHS will be providing them with new heart valves and hip joints when the time is right.

3000 kCals ain't that much. Plenty of folks do that every day who aren't at all fat. The secret might be in the exercise.

Yeah, tell that to the tax payers. Why should I have to pay for someone to sit on their arse all day?

This type of entitlement psychology drives me bonkers!

My only consolation is that they're British...

How easy is it to get benefits in Britain anyway?

I agree...pears do taste funny.
How about some strawberries? Oranges?
Bananas are always cheap.
