It's ad nauseam, sorry, but Dave's search function blows.

What's the name of the kind of fingerprints that we need for the CBC (American), and which type of police station can we go to for them?

You don't need fingerprints to get your CBC in the US. Well, at least I didn't need to give mine for one from Massachusetts.

It depends on your state or the locality you will be getting the background check from. I definitely needed them for Maryland. I got them from the state, but they did mention that an FBI Card would be just find. You can find it online:

So I can just print this out and go to a police station in Seoul?

I don't know the SOP for Seoul, but that is how it works in Bangkok.

Mine were already on file from my CWP so I just had them print another copy. The first one costs $15, subsequent ones are free.

An American friend will be moving to Canada, and needs to get fingerprints done for whatever paperwork is necessary there. Does anyone know if he could take that form to just about any police station in the country and get them done? Preferrably in Gwangju. Will it be valid even though Korea's not an English-speaking country? Is there some type of agreement that fingerprints done at a police station in Korea would be valid?
