I've been wondering this for a long time, but have never gotten a sure answer.

Why is it on Seoul subway, line 1, between Namyeong and Seoul stations do they shut off the power?

It has something to do with moving on / off the underground grid.

They also do it between Ichon and Yongsan on that other line. I don't get it either. If it is changing grids, that makes sense.
