Okay,
Here are the temperatures per core:
Core 1 = 40C
Core 2 = 41C
Core 3 = 46C
Core 4 = 42C
Core 5 = 45C
Core 6 = 42C
Core 7 = 49C
Core 8 = 42C
Core 9 = 50C
Yes, when I look at it in the toolbar, under CPU temperature, it says 59C
Now, that's a big difference. WTF?!?!?! The average of all course don't even amount to 59C or anywhere close to it! Which one is correct?
This new i7 processor is really running hot even with the aftermarket Zalman on it. |

Speedfan can be misleading with newer CPU's. Unless the version of Speedfan you're using is ready for i7 then it will probably be wrong.
The temp readings in the BIOS should be correct.
Did you put the thinnest layer humanly possible of thermal paste on the CPU when you installed the Zalman? The layer of thermal paste should be as thin as you can make it.
Too much paste will have the opposite effect. Hotter CPU.
Try Everest as a monitoring tool. I gave up on Speedfan and have happily used Everest for years. |

Yeah, I definitely put a thing layer, but, will do it again in a few weeks just in case. |

Speedfan is next to useless. download HWMONITOR.
http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php
None of the above temps are high, but then speedfan always puts out low temps, it's shit. |

This is crazy. I downloaded CPUID Hardware monitor and this is what i get:
Temperatures:
Remote 1 - 56
Local - 41
Remote 2 - 44
Then, it has another spot for Intel Core i7 920
That has 4 different core temperatures:
Core0 - 42
Core1 - 43
Core2 - 48
Core3 - 43 |

So what's crazy?
Those temps look fine to me. |

| remote 1 = 56 at room temperature with no load, that is the same temp. that speedfan gives me. The question is which node is correct? The individual core temperatures or this one? And, I am wondering what this one is. It's strange. |

There are two different temps on newer CPU's. The diode on the heat spreader and the diodes built right into each core. Obviously, the diode inside is hotter than the one on the heat spreader. So two different readings.
It's not unusual for the different cores in a multi-core CPU to have different temps. They work at different rates.
Look up on some tech sites what temps others are getting. Like this one.http://forums.extremeoverclocking.com/forumdisplay.php?s=ecb25669758c81b68a08d9b036519f66&f=84 |

Those are all fine temperatures...you don't have a problem. |

Geeks usually look at the core temp, the one stated on all cores; those temps are fine, take a xanex and think of a beautiful serene ocean or something. |
