Some guy just got busted for using "e-xtsy", one of those "herbal-e" dealies. Wtf. The herbal e stuff is probably no worse than drinking a bunch of redbull and it seems like the guy is getting busted by association, not because he actually did anything illegal.

So, where is the controlled substances list for korea?

If you can't buy it at a 7/11 or a pharmacy, then you're better off avoiding it.

The herbal Es can kick pretty hard but have never killed anyone to my knowledge. Would be interesting to see the schedule here.

On the 18th police in Suncheon arrested 31-year old Mr. L, an American English instructor at an elementary school in Yeosu, on charges of drug smuggling.

According to police, Mr. L is accused of ordering 32 packets of E=XTC through a website in the United Kingdom at the beginning of the month.

A hallucinogen, E=XTC is used by foreigners to make a more exciting party atmosphere and was classed as an illegal drug last September.

A member of the prosecutors office said, working as an English instructor in Yeosu since last October, Mr. L confessed that he used E=XTC at a party with his foreign coworkers, but those foreign instructors have not been charged with use of it since unlike other drugs it cannot be detected by hair testing and there is no third-party evidence.

I guess if you are ordering drugs from a foreign country that have psychedelic effects... you are playing with fire...

Good luck trying to find the list - Korean websites usually have worse search engines than Daves esl cafe.

You should also remember that if you are at a party with someone who is *suspected* of using illegal drugs, you will also be dragged in and tested.

Stay away from the drugs, people. If you have to order it from overseas, you might wanna think twice whether or not it's worth it.

I don't get why people mess around with illegal drugs in Korea when an MD will give you anything you ask for such as Xanax, Valium, Vicodin, etc. I am not saying the legal pharma drugs are any better, they are not, but at least they won't land you in jail. Korean doctors are big time pill pushers.
