Does anyone know of any cool restaurants, bars or nightclubs to go to in the Jongno area? |

Restaurants: Tons of them. Try Samcheong-dong (near the entrance to the President's house).
Bars and clubs: Not really. Just the regular old Korean places with a few different scenes, but it's not a great night scene. Plus, there is a massive lack of taxis at night. No one can get one, and when there is one, the locals push and fight for it.
I assume you want to be near Jonggak or Gwanghwamun, right? If you want to stay in the district of Jongno, head to Hyehwa. Tons of great bars there, but not clubs. |

Restaurants: Tons in the streets behind exit 1 and 2.
Lots of hidden ones in small alleys in Hyehwa.
One not-hidden one is New Dehli Indian restaurant, over 50 types of Indian curry. Walk out of exit 4 and veer right and straight. You'll pass Baskin Robins on your right just outside the exit. Walk down towards "The Doors" bar and you'll see New Dehli on your left, 2nd floor orange sign.
If you want a bar that is super foreigner and Korean friendly, walk out exit 4 and turn left. Go all the way down and you'll run into a Family Mart. Cross the main street to the 3 story Dunkin Donuts. Behind Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks is a great bar called Comfort Zone. |
