Hey. I've searched every corner in Korea and can't find a mac compatible webcam. I'm running OSX 10.3.9. Let me know if you have one for sale.
Thanks. |

What kind of mac do you own? Most of the newer ones have a web cam built in.

Yeah, most of the laptops do. I've got a Mac mini.

You should be able to use just about any webcam I would imagine. Unless the webcam is from 10 years ago, but any recent webcam should be plug and play on Windows, Mac, and Lynux; even if it does not say so on the box.
get a high res one. |

Try Elecom webcams. Its a Japanese company. I found their products in a store called Linked In (I think that's what it's called) in COEX, if you're near Seoul. Mine works pretty well and no drivers were needed. |

Man you should at least upgrade to Tiger. Really.
You should be able to use any webcam if you download a program called macam. It worked for my old G4 PowerBook.

I would be very careful paying money for Mac accesories. I went to the A shop in Coex and bought a microphone/headphone set made by Elecom. It didn't work . I had to bring it back and got a refund.
As for Mac Webcams. You need to look for UVC class cams. They need USB 2.0.
Go to this website. There are loads of info. Then try to source it from Gmarket or an equivalent site.

Good luck in finding the right webcam. |

My apologies, this is a bit off topic.
If you are using your Mac to surf, you will be unable to load gmarket properly to search for your webcam. The english version only works with internet explorer. So you may need to use a PC. The same applies to the Seoul Bus route website. Even Firefox on a PC does not work.
A good bet for webcams will be logitech, and that only applies for a few models.
Macam works but if you want it to work out of the box, buy the models they list on the above website I mentioned. |

I bought a cheap Korean generic webcam that works on both PC and Mac. It cost around 20k from Yongsan. I can't remember the name right now but I know it uses the Sonix chipset, which has mac drivers available. |
