I bought my Wii about 6 months ago from this dude in Yongsan...

There's an area in the second building ( the one joined to the Digital Plaza by a skywalk/ tunnel ) on the top floor that deals with consoles/ games...

This guy downloads the Wii games from the net ( probably for nothing or next to nothing ) burns them onto a CD and sells them for 10,000W...

He doesnt have a huge selection so far, and maybe half are in korean, but I'd guess hes got about 20-30 English titles, and the three I got all work perfectly...

Its not easy to give directions to exactly where this guy is, but if you find the area you can ask around...He didn't speak much English tho...

Hope this helps...

I know where you're talking about. I bought a wii from him last year and sold it when I went home. My new wii is a canadian one, so it won't play burnt games. Thanks though!

I think you're gonna run into some serious problems picking up genuine English games here...

I was looking to buy Wii Fit and because I needed the board, it had to be legit...went to all the usual high steet stores and Yongsan too...I was told that English games cannot be sold in Korea...( some zone / copyright thing Nintendo have... )

The closest I came was a guy in yongsan who told me he could import it for me for 200,000W (more than twice the RRP)...In the end I just bought the korean version for 90K....

It might be possible to get your console modded here and the chip would pay for itself pretty quickly....

It is a good deal to get it modded, I just don't want to disable updates on my machine. I was told the newer games are being made to require an update in order to be played.

I guess I'm gonna hafta get me a GI friend!

Thanks Tanklor1, I'll check it out.

and fecking real, there is a specific conversion process that you need to follow. You can't simply download and burn.

i have a copy of resident evil 4 i brought with me from america. I would be willing to part with it for 10,000.

Unfortunetly i live in Daegu so i would have to post it to you but i would be willing to do so for no extra charge considering the game is rather old and i dont plan on playing it again.
