Hey. My contract is up in a few months and I am starting to look for a new job. I am planning on staying in Korea, but I am trying to answer the question 'where in Korea?' I am not really a big city person so I was thinking that Jeju might be a nice place to live for the next year. Does anyone have any opinions about working there or living on Jeju? Any comments are appreciated. Thanks.

I think Jeju could be cool if:

1/ You were into diving.
2/ You never missed western amenities.
3/ You had an F2 and just taught the elite's kids for 60-70 thousand
per hour.

Well, the kids are about the same as anywhere. If teaching is what you want to do, yes, you can. If you're asking about conditions and pay, then that's another issue. You may very well be working for some real scum and incompetent idiots and Jeju ain't got no money.

Life - social, things to do - are about the same if you're in Jeju City. Heck, you've got NANTA!!!! Jeju is good for the outdoorsy person. Very great scenery and you've got water everywhere. The expat scene is okay, but it's small and if you don't mind everyone knowing exactly what you're doing, go for it.

Rolling Eyes You're asking the wrong people. Why don't you ask the people who actually live there?

I've been here a week, and I like it so far, it's very relaxed. I live ten minutes outside of jeju city, and so far I've had no problems. you're more likely to need a car or scooter though.
