How is your phone working out?
I love mine. It was very pricey, but I love finally having a proper smartphone. |

The OS is in Korean, but I use something called SPB Shell which is an add-on interface that changes most things to English for me. The T*Omnia has an Korean / English dictionary I use to look up Korean stuff on the phone I don't understand. It's not too difficult to use considering the Windows Mobile uses icons most of the time anyway.
The resolution on this phone is incredible.

LOL, both of these brands make nice smartphones right now. And more and more people back in our home countries are buying these brands.
A smartphone is only as good as the software it runs. Windows Mobile is pretty dang good from what I've experienced so far. |

That is exactly right. the hardware doesn't matter much nowadays. All phones have the same features. Its the software/OS that is most important.
The hype over the iPhone isn't the hardware. There have been other touchscreen smartphones. Its the software.
There is a lot of buzz over the future of Google's Android. Its all about the software now. The hardware is secondary. |

with the omnia, couldn't you download the english version of the OS and install it. Or would that make it unable to work in Korea? |

Can't do it because the resolution of the T*omnia in Korea is different (WVGA) than of the Omnia being sold in the US and other parts of the world. |

Would you mind divulging how much you paid and what kind of contract you're on? I'm still very new to cellphones in Korea and don't really know the market prices at all. |

i second pixykat222's request! Really like the Omnia but don't know much about contracts & pricing in Korea. Would be informative if you could share your spending on the phone itself & basic details about the contract.
Thanks in advance!
P.S. have already searched G-Market & Danawa & the price range is between KRW 550k ~ 700k, can not make out how much it will cost with the contract & too lazy to go to the neighborhood phone shop to check |

I paid close to a million won for my 8GB model. The 4GB model will be cheaper. I pay this over a 2 year contract period with SK Telecom (24 payments). If I choose to buy another model before the 2 years is up, I must pay the remaining balance. I believe there was some kind of setup fee I had to pay as well (55,000 won). |

The T*Omnia runs Windows Mobile.
The Haptic 2 runs Samsung's own OS. |
