My school says definitely not at this public high school. Where can I get positive proof that GEPIK schools..all of them..get federal funding for a NET?

Need to take care of this asap...

your school is right, I think.

While the government does pay for elem and middle schools, I do not believe they pay for high schools.

I know at my school the government does NOT pay.

Huh? Where do you work?

SMOE, EPIK, GEPIK, EPIG, and every other school board in Korea funnels money FROM the federal government TO public schools to pay for the expenses of foreign teachers hired by the public schools.

I'm in Masan, but I was told specifically that in this province, they only pay for elementary/middle school foreign teachers.

That being said, I'm at a private school which decided they wanted one anyway, and found the money to pay me well for it.

high schools are not public in K, to my knowledge, that is compulsory education stops after middle school.

parents pay to send their kids to high schools, depending on where, different amounts.

if someone knows different please correct me but this is what I was told a couple of years ago.

They get money from the government for each student that attends the school and they can charge more (called "fees") if the school is good.

Look, I can explain how this funding works, but many others know it, too. The OP already asked me about this and maybe someone else who alsp understands how the funding for SMOE, GEPIK, EPIK, etc... works then please explain it, too.

My explanation?

OK, it's THIS simple- Federal government gives money to EPIK for each foreign teacher- EPIK takes a cut and gives the rest to the school. IF you really are a public school teacher, the money is there to cover ALL of your expenses.

Damn, people, some of you have been "public school" teachers for years and you still don't know THIS? Wow. Not that difficult. Rolling Eyes

not all high schools get money from the government.

some pay for the NT out of their own pocket.

if you need to know, go with a bilingual person to the local office of education, they should have your info and have you listed in EPIK, GEPIK, SMOE, or just independent hiring...

Juang High School head teacher told me that there is NO money. Yet, the City told me they subsidize. Who is correct?
Now the school head teacher is telling new schools that I have a medical problem (being a diabetic ..which immigration already knows) and that I caused problems because I would not accept their dwelling due to it not having bathing facility.
