Get another car and big screen TV if you must have such luxuries. I didn't have either and grew accustomed to not having such things since the late 1990's. You can live without the physical trappings of credit based lifestyle mimicking middle class living all too common in the USA. I say just go for it by sacrificing one thing for another if that one thing is more important than the other or if it carries the possibility of more reward than the other. |

What are you talking about?
Sure, it'd be stupid to try and bring yours with you,
but guess what?
Cars and TVs exist in Korea!
And if you shop around, quite a bit cheaper and higher quality than on your home planet. |

I know you.
You're the one always bumming rides off people and asking to come over to watch the big soccer match right? |

I found out about this stuff called "cash" exchanged around these parts for a foreigner's time. If you exchange some of your time for this "cash", and are a little patient, you can actually buy a car AND a big screen tv without using credit. |

Oh, yes where you have a good pay job offering discretionary cash to purchase luxories. I say go for it as they gots lots of cars and TV's in Korea. Not just lots, but decent quality at that. I love my new expensive fancy luxurious big screen HD monitor I paid for on cash. It's purely luxorious heaven to sit in front of that sleek bright shiny 21st century appliance and doesn't matter whether you're in Korea, America; city or rural. I feel good about outright owning my few thousand dollars of electronics. If only I could say that about my education.....

I take the bus and subway a lot, and with all the crap on Korean TV ... I prefer to surf the net or read a book.
To my friends that have cars I ask, how do you cope with all the idiot drivers everyday?
I am more than thankful that I don't need to have a car here.
If I had even half of the money I wasted on cars, gas, repairs, insurance I would not have to work. |

who says I left them behind. Smugglers are driving my 1983 Honda Civic across Mongolia as we speak and my big screen TV is being flown in on a dirigible.
I've given up attempting to give actual answers to this guy's questions. |
