Well, we ended up stopping at my mother-in-law's apartment last night.

At breakfast time today, I was happily eating food alone when my mother-in-law came into the Kitchen to cut an apple. While she was doing this, she happened to drop a couple of bits on the floor. She picked them up washed them under the top for a couple of seconds before slicing those two pieces into four. She then put two of them on my plate...

One of the pieces had two hairs on it Rolling Eyes 맛있겠다!

Needless to say, I suddenly became totally full, unable to eat another thing. This comes after an investigation into Korean fruit I saw on TV at the weekend. For those that didn't see it, I strongly recommend you don't buy very ripe delicious looking bananas. Be careful of gift wrapped oranges too. They may not be what they seem!

From that old womans point of view, there was nothing wrong with what she did. She's from that generation.

Thats why i'm wary of those ajjuma making my dinner in 'Gimbapcheonguk' everyday. They never wear hairnets (most basic hygene procedure), and i dread to think of all the faecal matter on their unwashed hands.

And the fact that your foreigner-friendly Galibi Tang gets to you still boiling hot in the bowl it was cooked in doesn't give your room to set aside your fear of the evil ajummas long enough to enjoy your meal?

I attended a university that you could find various things in your food from the school restaurant, we categorized them by material, size, risk.

hair belongs to mid-sized, indigestible yet toxic food adulteration. Laughing Laughing

It's the ten second rule. Believe it or not, it's legit, determined by how fast bacteria and other harmful, er, things, can transfer.

It doesn't apply in the case of the apple where stuff from the floor sticks to it on contact however.
