I don't know how it is in Seoul - I am sure it's much better there than anywhere outside of it.
my town is a de facto sex prison, unless I want to pay for it. Communication is a big issue since very few people speak English. The nightlife isn't exactly hopping here, either.
what really fascinates me is how I hear stories of all these Seoul Dave's Cassanovas.. and each and every time I see a young waygook on the subway, I think to myself - "never in a million years does this guy get laid with any frequency".
I guess it'll be interesting to see what I see when I take the plunge and hit Seoul on a weekend night out. |

Fair point--the oversexed posts might be due to an abnormally long dry spell, which is understandable (although I hadn't got any for 6 months and didn't post any sexually charged stuff, but whatever...) |

I post salacious material, or provocative posts, no matter how satiated or starved I am, so I am unsure what you're getting at.
and yes, I am so much into the darker latinas 
but the only point I was making IS that I find it somewhat amusing reading all these posts about how super EASY it is for young waygook to get young k-gal trim (of the supposedly "hot" variety")
yet I have been distinctly UNDERWHELMED by the "studliness" of the waygook I've seen out and around (admittedly this has been a somewhat limited sample, but still....)
so, it's either one or two or three of the same studly Cassanovas talking about a world I doubt much of anyone else is "enjoying" (and in that case, I'm not hating, a tip of the cap and say good for you) or... I simply have to call massive BULLSHIT, ok?
and I know one young Aussie guy in my city who is an attractive fellow yet his luck/scoring streak is almost all on the "Western female" circuit. |

I'm a good looking wayguk and I find it is very easy to pick up other wayguks. You'll notice that lots of good looking foreign males have foreign girlfriends. This is probably because foreign girls often chase after any good looking foreign guys they see.

I noticed that as well....I just assumed those were girlfriends from america and they came as a couple.
On the flipside, the average girl I see with waegookin is usually an 8 at best....I rarely see a hottie...even if the guy is a hottie himself. 9 and 10 girls just don't study english....except for a former english teacher at my school....HOTTIE! Both by waegookin and Korean eyes.... |

I've seen a lot of really hot foreign girls walking around in Itaewon; some are obviously Russian, but a few are English teachers like us. I wonder what their deal is--are they looking to hook up, or do they just want to spend their year abroad alone, or whatever.
I like western girls very much (I like all girls. ), but I find dating with western girls so much more complicated and confusing than with Korean girls, who are more direct. They'll tell you if they just want sex, marriage, a guy with money, etc...makes life easy, and saves a lot of time. Sex, no the other hand, is universal.

It wasn't me - it was a English guy studying at a uni in Seoul. I'd never work for SMOE again - or advise anyone else to either.
I'm in no hurry to work at a K uni - my private high school is very good to me (extra benefits etc). I don't think I could be bothered with the nonsense created by the layers of Mandarin Office Jockeys who plague uni teachers. |

This message is a bit dead, so sorry to re-ignite it, but I am sitting in an airport killing time and I'm shocked no one has brought this up:
The looks disparity between what Western and Korean guys consider attractive.
I always use the example of either Lucy Liu or Kim Yun-Jin. Both frequently make the Maxim Top 100 hottest babes, but ask some Korean guys, and I bet the majority would say they find both average looking at best.
Korean guys, from my experience, tend to like almost Western features on their Korean women--this is evident by many of the drama actresses and models: big eyes, high-bridged nose, oval face.
In contrast, many of the Korean girlfriends I saw with foreigners did not meet that criteria.
That said, often times with the Korean/Western dynamic, regardless of whether the male or female is Korean, both partners seem to be very happy, in that they think of each other as being "a catch." The balding white guy is Brad Pitt, the heavier white woman is Jennifer Anniston because of her blonde hair. And so on and so on.
And if that is indeed the case, more power to them! It's like both people involved have Shallow Hal syndrome. I find it beautiful. |

This is actually pretty true. Americans like the Korean girls with higher cheekbones and a bit wider faces. Korean guys like the small, thin faces. |

Having sifted through eight pages of this stuff, I've got a few random thoughts to throw around:
1) Girls here are no different than girls anywhere else. Confidence, intelligence, sense of humor, shared interests...these things still apply. Try not to think of Korean women as Korean women; they're just women, you know? That being said...
2) The language thing is important. It's an absolute necessity. If you want to communicate, you have to learn Korean.
3) Korean's easy as f*** to learn. I don't care if you plan on being here one year or ten; hangul takes two hours to pick up. You have absolutely no excuse not to learn the language.
4) Give it time. If you're not meeting people now, you will. Timing is everything. Just don't deny yourself opportunities; don't make excuses; try to be open to new experiences.
5) I see a lot of sleazy-looking western women here. Kinda creeps out. Sorry.
6) Korea women are awesome. They don't think you're an asshole just because you were born male.
7) Don't take anything I say seriously. Just my experience, folks.

 Western girls annoy me so much with their pretentious behavior, squeaky flirtatious voice, and cellulite on their legs. yuck all around. |

I don't understand what the big deal is about hooking up with a 10. To quote an old movie:

I am old and have had tons of failures and a few successes when it comes to dating. I have dated a few 10's who after they revealed their true selves ended looking like 2's in my mind. I have also dated 5's that ended up being -20's because of bad attitudes. I have dated a couple of 4 or 5's who ended up looking like +20's because of their good attitudes. The key is ATTITUDE! |

Yeah, reading no problem. Understanding it, and speaking it is another story. I can read Korean better than some of the younger students I've taught, but my level of comprehension is probably on par with a pre-schooler. |

| Not only the comment about higher cheekbones and wider faces, but I think a lot of westerners don't like rail thin anorexic girls either. I see plenty of K gals that wouldn't make the cut with K guys, but would turn plenty of heads back home. Personally I like big round butts with thick thighs. All the girls I've dated here (and it's not that many) were built like that. |
