Over the past week I have gotten 2 emails from 2 different unknown senders. Both of them are related to Korea, with quite a few addresses attached besides mine.

The first email was basically written by someone who claimed to have lived in Daegu for two years, but complained that the weather in Daegu is crappy, people cant speak English, and Koreans are general are racists. Then it goes on to talk about how that person went to Vietnam and everything was SO much better and continued to talk about how much better Vietnam is than Korea...on and on again about Vietnam

The second email - just today - Basically talks about how Korean men are buying women. It contained a link to a news story which I did not click. This second email had many more other email addresses included in the recipient list that the first.

Just curious if anyone here has gotten similar emails lately.

damn, wonder if he was drinking and typing? do you know the guy? what was the sender's email? i would love to be right about this one...

Nah, I don't know the sender of either email. The email regarding Vietnam was a reply to the original sender who said all of the terrible things about Korea in general. I suspect this person got my email address from this site as this is the only site concerning Korea I have used with the email address I have registered with.

I don't want to pass this persons email address around in public, but the name attached to the yahoo email account is "Cody F*****.

Just wanted to confirm that this person got my email address from this site, which as far as I knew was private information only known to the administrators.

Why anyone would open and read an email with a ton of other email addresses is beyond me. Don't you already get enough spam?

I fact I do get alot of spam, but it typically gets caught by the filter. I had no way of knowing that the same email was sent to many others until I actually opened it and saw all of the other email addresses it was also sent to.

Normally I wouldn't have opened it but since its topic was about Korea, as opposed to me winning the lottery, or unknown relative from Nigeria, or the typical kind of crap that is obviously spam but doesn't get caught in the filter, I checked it out.

It didn't crash my system or any other side effects. The contents were no worse that some of the stuff here on the boards as well. I was just curious to know if others here had gotten the same email, which would indicate that someone has hacked the site and gotten addresses. If a person griping about Korea can get what I thought was private information, I suppose anyone could..possibly those with worse intentions than someone sending out a few gripes and opinions about whatever is on their mind.
