I'll be finishing my current contract this summer (June) and am hoping to stay on at my current place for another year. Visa-wise, how straightforward is that?
On the other hand, what if my contract isn't renewed? I still want to stay another year in Korea, so what's the visa position then? Do I need a new criminal record check, notarised and apostilled? University transcripts?
I'm British, by the way.
Any info would be much appreciated. |

Go to the Immi website an look up what's required for your particular scenarios.
There are several unknown variables that work in combination and will affect what's required; and whether you can extend the period of sojourn for your current visa, or you will need a new visa:
- Public school or private?
- If public, EPIK or other?
- If public, were you invited by the Ministry of Education?
- The time (if any) between contracts? |

Thanks. I'm at a hagwon, and even if I change jobs it'll be to another hagwon in all probability.
Do you have a link to the correct page? |

You could have warned me about the *ucking music! But thanks, anyway.
The information there seems kind of vague - I mean there's nothing there that refers specifically to the E-2 visa (that I can find, anyway).
Can anyone who's actually done this give me some advice? |

Put your curser on 'Visas & Immigration' in the menu at the top of the page then click on 'Visa'. When the G4F page loads, click on 'Visa Issuance Guide - status of stay'... then choose 'E-2' from the list of visas. |
