Get cash before the day of your flight. I was all set to go this morning when I went to the atm to get cash for my trip and busfare to Incheon. Then I get a message saying my cards can not be read. I guess Hana Bank wants to keep all of my money and make me stay in Korea.

I guess this should be in the travel forum, but oh well. Anyways, I'm a little ticked off right now, so I'm going to rant a little here. Overall, I like Korea, but there are a few things that really annoy me.
1. Hana bank. I'm tired of having to find my bank book because the atm says I can't withdraw cash until I update the little book. I can check my transaction history using my atm card, but for some reason, I am expected to carry around a book that doesn't fit into my wallet and periodically update it for no apparent reason.

2. Why is the only international airport which serves Seoul over 70km away? Narita airport is 60 km from downtown tokyo. The Beijing airport is about 20km away.

3. I know it's been posted before, but I'm a little tired of having to take huge piles of cash with me whenever I leave the country because they won't give a foreigner an international atm card.

4. Visas should not be tied to the school, but to the teacher. If I have a terrible job, I should be able to quit.

5. Alien registration shouldn't be more complicated than visa issuance. If I have a visa, have had an ARC before and am in the country, why should I have to wait for two weeks to get the exact same card I had to turn in at the airport?

6. And finally, why do employees at Lotteria or Outback Steakhouse know 10 times as much English as the people who work at immigration and have to deal with countless foreigners every day?

Rant finished, time to go to the bank and see what's up.

Everybody hated the location and existence of Incheon
Airport when it was first built. Old Gimpo Int. was 700 won by
subway! But the new airport was the best long-term decision/ infrastructure project Korea has undertaken to date. Pure genius.
