Hello. New to the board and have searched extensively for the right answers but have come up short. I know you are allowed 1 liter of booze duty free and some people just pack a couple bottles hoping "for the best" (which I don't want to mess with) so I guess my question is are you allowed to bring in a couple more bottles if you pay for a tax and if so what that tax would be?
I love bourbon, Basil Hayden, Weller, George Dickle, Knob ..basically the good stuff...and I hear it is extremely expensive to buy over there if you can even find it at all, and some times its not even really what you would buy back in America..Also, if the answer is that you cant bring more over, does anyone know of a reasonably priced place that you can get the authentic stuff?
Thanks for any help you can give..
Oh yeah..shipping B over is not an option as I understand as well..right?.. |

When I came back from China, I had a bottle of wine and a bottle of Chinese liquor/soju. I declared it to customs, they laughed and waved me through.
It's better to be safe than get it confiscated or fined, esp. with multiple bottles. |

Bourbon. . . is from Kentucky.
If you ever visit, and you should, you can tour the distilleries and get free samples. It's great. |

Buy it at the Duty Free shop in the airport. You'll get the best deal and they'll let you know the limit. Plus it will give you something to do while you're waiting.
I put two inexpensive bottles of pastis in my suitcase and bought two bottles og Makers Mark at the duty free and I didn't have any trouble but I would have thrown away the $20 pastis if they had said anything. |

All of my dress shirts are individually rolled around scotch and bourbon bottles so that they don't get wrinkled. Yes, it does make the suitcase heavier, and yes, I do have to find the extra room for the bottles when I get back to Korea, but I'll be damned if I'm going to iron! |
