Trevor:

I've decided to follow your advice and not take you too seriously just as I put little credence in what this agenda-driven revisionist historian has chronicled.

Finkelstein is a tool.

Interesting. Some people might like to study pats of Norman's thesis in:

Disinformation and the Palestine Question: The Not-So-Strange Case of Joan Peters's From Time Immemorial.

And:

"A Land Without a People (Joan Peters' "Wilderness" Image)."

Oh, wow, Cyberguy and Trevor wade in on Israel; I'm sure this will prove to be about as balanced and thoughtful as bigverne and the anti-theists on Islam.

You know, the question is a valid one and an important one to consider. I happen to agree with the Arab League's position on this issue in 1944.

But the way Israeli "new historians" (revisionists, comparable to America's New Left, aiming to thoroughly undermine and even destroy their own nation-states from the ground up) and their friends here discuss this issue (not to mention their transparent agenda, only really, honestly and openly articulated by Tehran these days) is entirely offensive, not to mention dangerous and deliberately threatening.

Some will come here, quote from this post, play innocent, and ask: N. Finkelstein is just a nice guy, an uncorrupted guy, asking questions. How is that offensive, dangerous, or deliberately threatening? This represents stubborn denialism and a complete unwillingness to appreciate how this kind of "scholarship" affects non-extremists/non-radicals.

This is not exactly a current event, and the OP is way over the 300-word limit.

So as not to belabor it too much, I'll just point out that Zionist collaboration with the Nazi holocaust is meticulouisly detailed in Ralph Schoenman's The Hidden History of Zionism.

That's a rather ignorant claim. When I was about 11, my folks took me and my siblings to see 'Judgment at Nuremburg' (1961).

"Judgment at Nuremberg centers around a military tribunal in which four judges are accused of crimes against humanity for enacting Nazi law. Judge Haywood (Tracy), the chief justice in the case, attempts to understand how defendant Ernst Janning (Lancaster) could have passed sentences resulting in genocide, and by extension how the German people could have turned a blind eye to the Holocaust... The movie won the Academy Award for Best Actor (Maximilian Schell) and Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium, and was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Spencer Tracy), Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Montgomery Clift), Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Judy Garland), Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, Black-and-White (Rudolph Sternad, George Milo), Best Cinematography, Black-and-White, Best Costume Design, Black-and-White, Best Director, Best Film Editing and Best Picture." (wiki)

The movie was made several years before 1967. The award nominations and success of the movie indicate that the basic claim made in the OP are simply nonsense.

For the non-bigots in the crowd, if you haven't seen the movie, it's well worth your time. Where else can you see Spencer Tracey, Marlene Dietrich, Richard Widmark, Burt Lancaster, Montgomery Clift, Judy Garland and Maximilian Schell in one movie (directed by Stanely Kramer)? You don't see star power like that in serious movies much anymore.

Ya Ta Boy

With due respect, sense when do we use fictionalized Hollywood movies with the avoirdupois of a Burt Lancaster to counter the work of a University Professor whose parents were in the Holocaust? You did study science too in college right?

somebody's red herring that you will follow to the ends of the Earth?

And what do you have to say about these meetings and the politics and alliances they represented? Poor little, innocent Arab Palestinians, neglected and not favored by the Western powers from the Second World War era forward, for no reason at all...

That Photo is great! Reminds me of the old CCCP ones in its lack of Photoshop skills. What the hell is it supposed to prove even if it were true?

Israel is VERY easy to understand:

Christians kill Jews in Germany so worldwide Jews get to due the same to Palestinians plus get some holy land in recompense.

Here are some more "photoshopped" pictures.

Read The Hidden History of Zionism. The entire book is at the link. It is very well documented. Whatever you can refute, I'd love to hear it.

Have you ever seen me cheerleading for the Palestinians?

I'd probably have more sympathy for the "palestinians" if their plight wasn't exaggerated so much. You muslims lie like rugs about their treatment and frankly I just don't believe a damn word any of you have to say on the topic.

So, in review. When "palestinians" are rounded up and put in ovens, you may use the phrase "Jews get to do the same to palestinains". Until then, it just exposes how incredibly dishonest you all are.

Ha. Let us rename this "the denialists' thread."

Re: Nazi Germany and the Arab Palestinian leadership...

Quote:
...the mufti had been officially banned from [British Palestine] following his escape in October 1937 [resulting from the Arab Revolt that failed]. With the outbreak of war, British officials made overtures to the mufti, by now in Baghdad, to seek his support for the White Paper and implementation of its [now antiZionist] immigration restrictions. They did so out of fear of his ability to arouse general Arab hostility toward the British position in the Middle East at that time. [Hajj Amin] Al-Husayni rejected these requests and the White Paper itself. Instead, he aligned himself with the Iraqi rebellion against Great Britain in April 1941, and once it failed he made his way, via Iran, to Italy and Germany. There he spent the war supporting the German war effort and German barbarity against the Jews.

C. Smith, Palestine and the Arab-Israeli Conflict (6th ed., 2007), 180.

Check your facts, HughCl.
