The F1 Season starts this weekend!
The first race of the 2009 season is the Australian Grand Prix which which airs at 3:00pm (local) on Sunday the 29th.
Does anyone here know where a devoted fan could watch the race??
I don't have cable yet and when I get it I'm not sure if it will even air F1, if it does I am not expecting the coverage to be in English.
I may be able to watch it online with the TVU player but I'd much rather watch it on a real TV with fellow fans.
Someone please help out a fellow race fan! |

I'm also interested. Beer and F1 sounds like a fantastic time. Since the race is in Australia, it'll be one of the only races that's Korea time-zone friendly! Gotta take advantage... |

I used to watch F1 on the free TVU player, but last season it didn't work for me, so I got a satellite dish TV service called Skylife, which has Star Sports. Star Sports always shows F1 and there is a nice pre-race show on it, too. So, I recommend getting Skylife satellite tv, or going to a sports bar where F1 is on the tube. I remember now that the channel on the TVU player with which I used to watch F1 sometimes disappeared last year, which is why I went with Skylife. Good luck. |

What is ESP?
Re: Ilnine, I emailed Rocky Mountain Sports Bar and they said they would air the race if it doesn't conflict with the hockey schedule. Since the race is in Australia this week it couldn't possibly conflict with games in North America.
I waiting to hear confirmation that they will definitely be airing it.
Oh and I also found a spot online to watch the race (not TVU player).
Anyone who is interested can PM me for info but I'd still rather go to a bar to watch it.
Re: yeremy I would like to get satellite but I'm in an officetel/villa so I don't imagine that I will be able to mount a dish anywhere. |

I'm hoping that channel 605 which shows all things Australian will air it. In the past rugby tests have been shown and nowadays Super 14.. They appear to oblige anytime Australia and man in the street viewer have common interest.
Channel 600 has Star Sports, but it hasn't been doing gp's for some while now. Not that I have ever expected more, given the premium asked for watching a gp in my home country.
If a grand prix slot does eventuate in Korea next year, I wonder if the tickets'll be immediately sold out and available only via lottery a la Japan. |

Hello, my 1st post!
I'm an F1 nut and hope not to miss tomorrow's race
Does anyonehave a TV schedule to learn on which Korean channels they will air F1 live? I'd love to but I can't read much Korean.

I don't care too much for auto racing, but I'll bite on this thread
I have no idea when or if it will be on Korean sports channels like MBC, SBS. If you have ESPN Star Sports, it might be on that, like yeremy said.
Off the net, Maybe the sites atdhe.net and myp2p.eu will have it. You may need to DL some additional software though. |

A riveting qualifying was broadcast on Star Sports this afternoon, with me in attendance !!
Roll on the morrow and view the race in its entirety. 2pm sharp, channel 600 aka Star Sports. |

Hi fellow F1 nuts!
I am so happy F1 is back on.
Skylife has it on channel 506 (Star Sports)
If you go to the Star Sports website (http://www.espnstar.com/tv-listings/region1/day1/) you will see a screen for today's listings.
Click on the Star Sports box above the schedule (the first one that will come up is ESPN, which Skylife doesn't have)
Then choose Korea
Then choose the day.
Remember, the times shown are Hong Kong times, so you have to add 1 hour.
The broadcast schedule is (Korean time):
3/28
21:55 Qualifying
3/29
6:30 - 8:00 Qual.
12:30 - 14:00 Qual.
14:00 - 14:45 Raceday pre-race
14:45 - 16:45 Race (this is live)
16:45 - 17:30 Checkered Flag post-race
The above pre through post race is re-broadcast starting 3/29 at 22:00 - 00:45
They will re-broadcast everything several more times during the week after each race.
If you have questions, you can PM me, but I don't have enough posts to PM you back, so leave your e-mail. |

I have Star Sports on cable here in Seoul, Chan 38
I can't believe I didn't know about this. I had the channel the whole time. Its one of my few English channels so I don't usually bother even watching TV. |
