That questin is like asking "I have been offered a job, is it a good one?". More details are needed, as it all depends on your contract and the housing situation.
e.g. Does the contract say that the school will provide housing OR a housing allowance of 600K?
If so, it then comes down to who paid the key money. If the school paid the key money, then they pay the rent and they have provided your housing. If you paid the key money, then the school should pay the full housing allowance.
Really though, it all depends on the contract. Does it say the school will pay key money and provide a housing allowance of UP TO 600K? If so, they are doing nothing wrong.
Usually, reading the contract will give you more info than a poster here ever could |

you have no leg to stand on, in their eyes (or in mine)
it's up to 600k. if you don't like it, negotiate moving to an apt that costs that per month (good luck)
don't burn bridges, assuming all else is good. if they meant to hand over 600k for you to do as you please, they would have...
plus, as the previous poster mentioned, it's unlikely that you're the one paying the key money...so... |

Dollars to donuts, that place has a maintenance fee.
It's sort of a scam, as schools say 'paid apartment' but maintenance isn't paid.
Gas and electricity aren't the same. Those can be controlled. The maintenance fee can't. You've gotta pay for a lazy sleeping security guard and an ajumma to clean up ajosshi puke. |

yeah the contract I just finished gave me a housing allowance, they didn't have the foggiest idea what my rent was - it was stated in the contract as X amount if I didn't live in teacher's housing.
so OP - what's your situation? |
