Wanting to change from instant coffee. Does anyone have a grinder and/or maker they want to sell.
Or can you recommend what kind and where I could buy a not too expensive grinder/maker from? |

Here's a thread with lots of suggestions:

The wooden base hand grinders actually do an excellent job, but they are slow. I got the smallest, 10kw model, but the bigger ones may be faster, I suspect.
I am using an AeroPress, but they are overpriced on Gmarket. They key, which is in the AeroPress instructions, is to use water at 175 degrees F, stir for 10 seconds and press for 20 seconds.
So you could use a French press with 30 seconds steeping time. But you need a thermometer.
Actually, there's an even easier way: cold brewing. Just put the grinds in a jar with cold water and let it sit for 12 to 36 hours. It is the secret to iced coffee. Or you can heat it. |

I use a percolator, which can be purchased here. I'll never go back to a French press. You can find a coffee grinder on gmarket.co.kr as well, using the key words 'coffee grinder'. I use an industrial grinder. |

I bought one of them wood base grinders, but found my blender does a better and faster job as I like my Kirkland Starbucks coffee beans espessofied to a fine dust. You can control grain size by how long you run it and what speed. 10 seconds for regular grind and 20 seconds for espresso.
I boil water in a teapot, use a plastic molita with a tiny hole (brought from home) with a paper filter like in a coffee pot, over my cup to brew coffee each morning. I want to get one of those timed coffee pots so I don't have to jack around with this for the 1st 10 minutes of my day so it's all ready to rock in roll as soon as painfully arise from the extreme comfort of sleeping in bed.
Maybe Emart or Homeplus or Shinsegae in Seoul would have what we want. |

I have a Philips coffee maker I got from E-Mart that was around 40000 and love it. It's a smaller one, but it's just for me in the mornings so it's good.
I looked at grinders, but the electric ones here are outrageously expensive and I didn't want to fool with the hand crank ones (also too expensive), so I just buy pre-ground coffee. I've had most every kind of instant coffee that's sold here and am MUCH happier brewing at home.
I too wanted the timer kind, but for the money, I'm OK with what I have. I just set it up before going to bed and switch it on first thing in the morning.
Haven't tried the French press kind. They seem handy, but more troublesome than just flipping a switch! I'm not a morning person, so simplicity is essential here. |

For grinders, a nice zassenhaus can't be beat, if you've got the money to spend on shipping from overseas. I've got half a dozen of various vintage, but unfortunately, none of them are for sale (sorry!). |

You can try using a crude timer switch. The cheapest ones are accurate to 15minutes. If you pay more, you can get elecronic timers accurate to the minute. You just plug it into the socket and then set the actual time, then push a few tabs for the time you want the switch to turn on.
I bought one at Emart for about 13000won I think(can't remember the exact price). I used mine to switch my heater fan on and off in the mornings. I just searched Gmarket and they have one for 6900 with free delivery. Hope this helps. |

The best suggestion I can make is that if you want things like that check global.gmarket.co.kr they definitely have grinders and a crap load of other stuff. You can order it without a dredit card you just transfer the money. Sometimes it is difficult to read the information about things as it is often in Korean, but it is easy to find most of the things you need on here. Also often the shipping is free or really cheap. |
