What is the night life like in Seoul and other cities you are in? Whats a typical night out for you?

Let's see.
After a gruelling 14 hour day being ordered around by power hungry Koreans in a sweatshop environment, nightlife becomes night survival.
Sure, the contract says 22 classes a week.
You'll be lucky to get a lunch break to yourself as they'll order prison food delivered to the school which you will scarf down against your stomach's will just to get out of that situation.
You'll probably discover that soju is approx 1500 won a bottle and that two bottles will get you to sleep well before beginning the next day of the same.

I imagine hagwon life would be tougher. Likely more than the typical public school 18~22 classes per week.
Ask a HAGWON teacher. And be sure to talk down to 'em because public school teachers are automatically better.
That's the dream position in Korea, no?

I'm a public school teacher - weeknights I don't usually go out too late because I'm usually too tired, but dinner with friends a few nights a week generally happen. Weekends are another story - most of the expats in my city go out on Friday and Saturday and party/drink/barhop/noraebang until about 5am. There's always lots going on in Chuncheon, so I'm sure Seoul is even busier. No shortage of things to do and places to go.

Typical night out is pretty much what I said above - we usually do dinner and then a few bars until the wee hours of the morning, and then we move to noraebang or late night drunk food. Same as back in North America, I guess, except everything stays open later so we stay out later. Good times had by all Smile
