Just like the topic says, looking for the best place to buy a ticket back home. They bought my ticket to get here, and I'm looking to buy one going back but don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it. |

I don't know about the best place, but this works:
http://www.expedia.com/
Begin studying fares well before your departure. Look at the price for buying a day or two in advance vs. a week or two. It turns out there can be deals in the day or two category. But don't cut it too close. One time the site was down for maintenance for about 12 hours.
You can also go directly to the online sites for the airlines. Someone pointed out that Delta allows a refundable option. |

IS the best, but you need to be a 'student in university'. You actually don't need to be, you can fake it if you have your old student ID and a university email address.
You just need to take a picture of your student ID and send it to them with you school email, and it 'verifies' your student status. |

www.cfares.com
Seriously one of the cheapest sites around. I've used it twice, once for a one way ticket and once round trip. I had two layovers flying from Cincinnati (texas and japan) but I only paid $575 for a one way and $730 for a round trip. |

www.kangsantravel.com Will get you to the west coast AND BACK for 700K Won. The offices are in Daegu and Busan, but I'm pretty sure you can buy online. Cheapest English speaking agency I've found (there may be cheaper for those better at the language than I). |

i just bought two RT tickets to california in june from Korean Air (their website) last week for 1,376,000 won with taxes included...
there are RT tickets for as low as 415K to LAX via Cathay Pacific on http://www.tourexpress.com but the tax is 264K...
the weekend departure tickets are more expensive compared to the weekday ones at Korean Air |

I just purchased a one way flight home on www.NWA.com, it was 714 with tax. I thought that was pretty good. I am flying to Buffalo, NY.
Also you could try www.vayama.com |

Is there a place to go if you don't have a visa card? Like a travel agency or direct with an airline? |

What's the deal on refundable tickets?
Anyone know how much the penalty charge is for canceling or changing a refundable ticket? |

Get a Korean friend to go to a Korean website and buy the ticket for you. I think you will find much cheaper rates than anything by expedia or the like.
It's not the US, but over the winter I went to China. Online sites and travel agencies were quoting me 1.2 million for 2 round trip. A Korean friend went to a Korean website and got the same trip for 500K. |
