That movie was pretty good, because it was a true story. BTW, shilmido is really close to Seoul. It's a tiny little island next to muindo, about 30 minutes by boat from Incheon.

The impression I got from the movie was:

North Korea is (was) much more well-structured than South Korea. Their guys almost accomplished their mission.

Yeah apparently in the true story alot of the guys that who were being trained had been sold into it by their families and werent criminals at all.
The corporal who was tricked into leaving the island is the guy who told the story.

What was it that made you think that North Korea is (was) much more well-structured than South Korea?

What was it that gave you the impression that their guys almost acomplished their mission?

It can be seen in theaters here in Korea.

Regarding DVD or renting I think it is not available yet.

The North Korean commandos got into the outskirts of Seoul...That's pretty amazing but im not sure it was close to mission accomplished.

From my father's mouth:

North Korean commandos got into the same suburb as the target (President's Blue House) before they were stopped, so they got pretty close.

Shilmido was the base for South Korea's revenge plan on the North.

I hope that didn't give away spoilers.

By the by, I'm hoping to grab a lot of DVD's before I head back and do some home subtitling so my non-Korean friends can enjoy them. They'll probably be mainly comedies tho. If anyone wants to get their hands on the subtitle files, then I'll keep them posted. I don't know if we'll just stop after 1 title, or go through them all. In any case, we're an ambitious lot.. :)

jae.

Why do we do anything in Korea again and again?

I am going to see the movie today...I hope it is good and I hope I understand enough of the Korean.

The movies was good, and I understood the plot well. I still liked "Classic" better.
