If anyone didn't know about 'em, here is the link

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7973241.stm

Lets not kid ourselves. They should not have been there anyway, staying in the border area too long (more than 5 days) is bad. Since their capture the best i could imagine for them would be a public execution

Edit:
I was running out of the house when I caught up on this story, but here are details:

Two females from Current-TV were traveling the countryside of China near the NK border when they were arrested by the DPRK. They have only received light coverage IMO and now the DPRK is taking them to trial. In a nation rumored to have cannibalism and public execution and known to torture, well...

Lets hope they can get home safely Idea

The Norks just upped the ante in the current missile situation. I can't imagine the nightmares these women are having because they are pawns in an international game of chicken.

I wonder why the media isn't making more of the story.

I actually have an opinion contrary to both of yours.

They wont die. Eventually they will return to the US. I do not think the Norks are stupid. They are many things. Scumbags, evil, childish..but not stupid. These reporters have zero value to NK dead. They have a LOT of value as bargaining chips. The fact that they were abducted before the missile launch isnt a coincidence. The Norks will be looking to trade them in return for something. What? I have no idea but it wont be chump change.

Rachel Maddow has a piece with a particularly good point to make on this and related matters:

While totally wrong, everything she said was absolutely correct.

I think I saw Ling a while back on the Documentary Channel doing a show about e-waste in China. She's a good reporter, if it's the same girl.

Maybe we can kidnap some Norks and do a prisoner swap. Since we outsource most of our jobs anyway, perhaps we can go to a Palestinian refugee camp and find someone with some expertise.

Yes, they are going to die............someday.....but not in North Korea; at least not at the hands of the Norkies....

NK may do some crazy things but they will not execute these girls....they are worth way more alive than dead...

Haven't you figured out how the world works (most of the time) by now?
