I run Windows XP on my system.
I recently downloaded heaps of window updates - which changed my computer a bit - (which really annoys me) but now its back to normal - after I set up all my personal preferences...
however - there is something new which really annoys me.. before when I looked at my movies in the folders on my computer - the movies used to say like [moviename].avi, [moviename].mpg etc but now the computer only displays [moviename], [moviename]
- The computer is NOT displaying the .avi or .mpg anymore -
can someone in the know-how -tell me how I can change it so the computer will display the .avi and .mpg after the movie-title again? |

That used to upset me too. Why does Windows do stuff like that? |

Windows is crazy sometimes..
I usually only try to download the "Critical Updates" -
but even then sometimes it downloads Microsoft Network 1.1 or 3.5 and other stuff such as "Hotfixes" which I really don't need..
then when its all been downloaded and installs itself - when I restart my computer - everything has changed..
It has changed back to the green mountain with blue sky desktop wallpaper - half my icons are missing, my favorites are gone and - all my personal settings have disappeared and it tell me "Welcome to windows XP - please take a tour"
until windows fix this problem - I have now turned "Windows automatic updates" OFF...
just hope I don't get any new malicious viruses.. |

I'm pretty sure to prevent beginner computer users from accidentally changing file extensions when renaming files. To those of us with a clue, it's annoying, but easily gotten rid of. |
