A pet-peeve of mine lately has been noticing so many people walking on the street rather than the sidewalk which is only a meter or two away.

Today I saw perhaps the worst example with an ajoshi hobbling along with a walker down the middle of the road. Cars were whizzing by him at over 80 km an hour.

Here's the photos I snapped.

There was a wide sidewalk available to him only a short distance away, as you can see. Alright, he's obviously nuts. But what is really disturbing is the typical Korean way that everyone just sees him as an obstacle and nobody tries to help. I just can't wrap my mind around how everyone just goes on about their day and lets the man walk down the middle of the road. Hell, they don't even slow down.

I need to invest in a video camera because I witness this stuff daily. Maybe I can start a website.

Or maybe you need to leave people the hell alone. Forget starting a website and start minding your own damn business.

Idiot.

You're the last person to tell anyone to mind their own business.

You're stupid.

Just a passing thought here, but have you noticed how uneven and broken many sidewalks here are? I guess it has something to do with the way many are set with vast amounts of single stones on loose sand with otherwise little or no adhesive. Although honestly I see the same things often as well and most of them seem to get around fairly well without the aid of a walker.

That being said, it's quite obvious the man has some kind of leg/hip disorder. Over time he like many others with disabilities/weak knees, etc. have probably noticed that it is often times easier to walk on the paved street rather than the sidewalk where loose stones/stones pushed up by roots or sunk down due to water make the surface more uneven.

Even in these cases, I cant imagine him being that far out in the lane.

Okay, fine. Keep surreptitiously taking handphone pictures of random people on the street and put them up on your website. It's sure to be a huge hit with the WHO CARES crowd.

Yeah, you and all your fans can keep complaining about being stared at in public while you're looking at ACTUAL PHOTOGRAPHS of another person going about his daily business, albeit in an unusual way.

Again I say, and *I'M* the troll?

Ignoring the idiocy...

I kinda understand the adjosshi. If motorcycles are going to drive on the sidewalk, why not walk on the street?

Sometimes, this country reminds me of a teenage girl on Maury Povich. Hell, this is Korea--we do what we want!
