Hey,

I've been reading around on here, but keep seeing conflicting information.

I am teaching an afterschool program at a public elem. school. My contract is up this spring and I want to extend. I came to Korea in 07 under the old visa rules and thus hadn't submitted a CRC or health check. I got a LOR and switched to a public school last year and at the time submitted a CRC and health check.

My question is if I stay at the same school and want to extend, what documents will I need? Do I need a new CRC and Health check if I am extending at the same work place without leaving the country? If anyone has extended at the same school, I would appreciate if you could post your experience.

Thanks.

Ok here goes.

I got clarification about this a few weeks ago from the person in charge of MY district. They got their info direct from immi.

1. You will not need a new CRB check.

2. You will need a new health check (assuming you have left Korea at some point since your last test). If you have stayed in K since your last test you should'nt need to do another one.

3. You just need to take your passport, NEW CONTRACT, Arc card and one new passport photo to immi. Do not let your current VISA run out before you do this.

ie - get your new VISA sorted before (if you go on your hols this Summer).

I'm not sure if you would have to pay for a new multiple enterance stamp or not, assuming you had one with your last VISA.

Thanks Gazz - very helpful info! I assume then I need a new health check given I left the country for a couple of days over Christmas break?

Cruisemonkey- I have two contracts signed. One with the afterschool company and one with the school. The contract with the public school is the one on file at Immigration and they are the employer noted on my alien card.
