Save me from doing this: http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-plant-beetroot
I've looked high and low, but for the love of god help me satisfy a craving that isn't soon going away. If I don't get a beet soon, I'll be sad.
If you've seen fresh beets sold in a store, where, and does anyone know what they're called in Korean. Alternately, I'll eat a tin of 'em. I'm that desperate.
beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeets. |

From what I understand.....
Koreans eat Beet leaves but not the roots which Westerners love.
You might need to take a Korean friend to your local farmer's market or Apartment Block grocery and talk to the producer.
The farmer or local grocery might be able to gather some up for you week to week. |

3 out of the 4 supermarkets I shop at have beetroot. Emart has it, shinsegae has it and a small supermarket I shop at has it. You can get it. |

I have a big garden this year, so I could send you one. You'll have to wait about 53 days though.
(wow...that video makes beet planting a lot more complicated than it has to be.) |

Tjames, ta....I garnered that from my colleagues. The beetroot is where it's at! Thanks for chiming in
Hugekebab, which emart/shinsegea are you frequenting? I'm willing to travel...
Fishy, you might be my knight in shining armour. I'm willing to bake you things...or barter. Where'd you get the seeds? I have a large rooftop and can garden, but no seeds for me.
Thanks for the replies, most helpful, even the Dwight Shrute ones, though I'm a woman and as much as love Dwight, he don't bring me beets. |

I'll also be growing beets this year, send me a PM in a few months, and if I'm not banned by then, I'll send you some pickled ones. |

Sweet, crunchy, yummy beeeets!!!
I didn't even know how much I missed them until I saw this post. I used to grow them in my garden and harvest them before they got very big.
Darn you for posting this, cravings are contagious you know! |

I get all my seeds from Missouri's Baker Creek Seeds. They are the only open-pollination heirloom seed company that I know of that ships internationally.
Check them out at www.rareseeds.com They only charge you $3 for shipping, and your order will pass through customs without a problem (at least for me, and I had two giant seed orders.) It'll take about 2 weeks. We're growing everything this year from beets to quinoa, arugula to okra...you get the idea. I'd be happy to send you some beets. I always grow too much of them anyway.
(I don't think I have enough messages to allow PMing yet. Time for some more useless commentary. ) |

Just take a look around your area mate, look at the smaller supermarkets like the non chain ones, they will have them. |

Hugekebab, thanks, but I've done that...hence asking here. I looked at all markets near my house, asked all over my school for help, and have visited several emarts and dept stores, no luck. |

If you live in Seoul, they have beets at Hannam Market near Itaewon. I am sure they have them at Haddon House which is about 2-3 kilometers away from Hannam Market. |
