so this is what my recruiter was telling me:

"so you have at least 2 chances for gepik jobs - one through the gepik office and at least one or more than one depending on your location of choice for the indepenant schools"

Anybody have any information about these independant schools and what the difference is between them and the jobs offered by the GEPIK head office?

I was told my resume had been submitted to GEPIK by multiple recruiters and my application was therefore rejected.

The thing is, I only contacted 2 recruiters and I never asked them to submit my resume to GEPIK, I just asked them to find me a job.

Anyway, I've contacted almost every recruiter under the sun, and some have responded positively, telling me they know of independent schools, they've said they will approach these schools with my resume and photo, and keep me posted.

A recruiter has told me this afternoon, they have 2 different schools they will approach today. I will wait and see.

Independant schools have no connection to GEPIK at all.

My guess is that he means that you could work *at* a GEPIK school *for* a hakwon. There's a few after-school programs set up that way at public elementary schools. But no matter how much it may look like a regular GEPIK job... you haven't got the assurances of working for a public school. A hakwon is a hakwon is a hakwon...

no, what they mean is that there are some regular public school jobs in GEPIK areas which aren't tied to GEPIK for whatever reason (vocational schools, etc)

they typically follow the GEPIK contract for most stuff, but can try to stiff you by working you more hours for the same pay
