might be accepting a job in Hwajeong Ilsan. Having not lived in that part of Seoul, anyone know how much would a taxi cost approximately from Hongdae area to Hwajeong area? usually spend a weekend or 2 in that area but no idea of how much a taxi might set me back. thanks |

Get a K-friend and find yourself a 고양 taxi leaving that area
You must call them because usually they are booked |

With the busway and its dedicated lane running right into the city via Yonsei uni, why would you want to take a taxi. Bus is quicker, IMHO. |

because the last Ilsan buses run until 1.55am perhaps? I normally stay out later than that on a weekend which is why I was asking about the approximate taxi costs.
Thanks for the replies btw |

15,000? I'd say 60,000-80,000 won. The subway runs to Hwajeong. |

I've made that taxi journey a few times and 15k is about right. The new link road from Jayu-ro to Haengshin makes for another possible route avoiding traffic, so you could even get away with less than that.
The subway does indeed go to Hwajeong but stops running much earlier than even the aforementioned buses. The buses are good though. The last from Yon-dae in that direction is after 2am and, if you were out much later than that, you wouldn't have to wait so long for them to start running again in the early morning. Probably not long after 5am.
Anyone suggesting 60k-80k for this journey in a taxi is either deliberately giving wrong info, has no idea of the actual taxi journey involved or has been seriously badly ripped off for taxi journeys themselves. |

16,000 to 20,000 won with no traffic problems. So after a drunk ass night from Hongdai and you need to go to LaFesta area of ilsan or Hwageon station is around this price. Make sure the taxi takes the highway. |
