Hi,
I need some wine help, please. I know nothing about it, except that it comes in White and Red
So I have a recipe that calls for a "mellow wine".
Can anyone tell me exactly what a mellow wine is and maybe recommend one that's available here, please? |

| Any tips how to avoid "grape juice" when looking for wine here? I don't really know anything about wine, but I keep on getting wine which taste nothing like the wine I am used to. Some of it is only 6%, and those are pretty easy to avoid, but some of the regular wines also taste very very sweet. |

You've been drinking Jinro wine, haven't you? Also, Carlo Rossi sucks. Don't get it.
Go to Homeplus or E-Mart and look for foreign wines around 10 dollars in a normal bottle (no weird-butt jugs). It'll probably be good.
If you feel like treating yourself, get a pinot-noir. In the words of Paul Giamatti in Sideways, "I AM NOT F-ING DRINKING MERLOT!" |

I write about value for money wines on my blog:
www.winekorea.blogspot.com
You can usually find Jorio or other Montepuliciano for 35,000 retail, 55,000 in a wine bar. See Dec Issue of 10 Magazine.
Hugel Gewurtztrrammier usually goes for 35-40,000 retail and 45,000 in a wine bar.
Other value for money wines include Petalos Bierzo and Dog Point Sav Blanc. |
