Hey,

I was talking to my know it all sister who's a Doctor and she was going on and on about getting vaccinations updated. I was wondering if anyone from the US or else where needed to run around and get paperwork(i.e Vaccination records) together for their visa or even the school that hires you thanks.

No, no one cares about your vaccinations, it's not a visa requirement.

I'm with the good Doctor on this one. You're all grown up now and time to take responsibility for your own health concerns. I had Wario get copies of his shot record up-to-date and take with him. No one else may care, but you should.

Get your Hep A & B vaccines if you don't already have it.

Before you have vaccinations or give advice about them you should do some research. Just taking the advice of the people that make money making and giving them is not such a good idea.

There is a lot of information on how bad they are for your health. Strange that they don't educate us on both sides of the topic? That might have something to do with the education you received about vaccinations was coiming from the people that cssh in on them.

Remember most of what you think you know is not really how things are.

I would want to do some research on the subject before I jabbed myself or my kids with that junk.

My friend's son died from his vaccinations as do many people.

More people die from Hep A and Hep B than from allergies to vaccinations. I'm sorry for your loss but please stop promoting your ignorant pro-epidemic propaganda.

All the more reason you should know what you've had and keep that piece of paper tucked away for future reference.

Sure, some doctor's make their living giving them. But just as many treat patients ill with diseases the vaccine is meant to erradicate. Malaria anyone?

There is no evidence that vaccinations reduce the incidence of disease. If you have some evidence other than medical propaganda I would really like to see it.

I also have not come to any conclusions for or agianst vaccinations. I just don't like seeing people promoting medical propaganda as scientific facts.

The effects of vaccinations usually go undetected. One persons kid could not run properly after his shots. Others actually get the disease or suffer from lowered immunity.

Evidence shows that children living in less than ideal situations having stronger immune systems than children growing up with vaccinations and cleaner enviroments.

I am willing to say I am not sure on this issue. If you think you are sure about this issue what are you basing that on?

Interesting to see how people blindly accept the " white mafia" ( the guys in white coats we call Dr.s)

There is lot's of information floating around and it doesn't take long to know more than the guy in the white coat if you do a bit of reading.

Polio is an is a disease that they used to say that vaccines worked. Like the plague diseases come and go. Polio was on it's way out when they started vaccinating for it. Polio is the first disease people who know little on this subject will talk about.

A common cold will last the same time with or without medicine. Diseases will run their courses with or without vaccinations.

Disease attacks people who are not healthy. If you want to guard against disease look after your health. Quit looking for a magical needle or pill to protect you.

Dr's want to get you dependant on them rather than educate you on health.

Hepatitis is chronic in this country because of alcohol. It is a disease of the liver and is caused by high toxicity. The disease needs an unhealthy host. Thinking you can get vaccinations and then abuse your liver is more dangerous than no vaccinations and no drinking.

Rhinovirus (Common Cold)

There are no vaccines against these viruses as there is little-to-no cross-protection between serotypes. At least 99 out of 250 serotypes of rhinoviruses affecting humans have been sequenced.

# ^ Mary Engel (February 13, 2009), "Rhinovirus strains' genomes decoded; cold cure-all is unlikely: The strains are probably too different for a single treatment or vaccine to apply to all varieties, scientists say", Los Angeles Times, http://www.latimes.com/news/science/la-sci-cold13-2009feb13,0,6469591.story
# ^ Palmenberg, A. C. (2009), "Sequencing and Analyses of All Known Human Rhinovirus Genomes Reveals Structure and Evolution", Science, doi:10.1126/science.1165557, PMID 19213880

Even if they complete the sequencing for the 250+ types of cold virus and develop a vaccine for every one, I think I can handle a week of the sniffles occasionally instead of getting 250 vaccination shots to prevent it.

Hepatitis...sure if I kill my liver with booze I could suffer from hep symptoms because I chose to compromise my immune system. Although it's more likely my malady is from cirrhosis if I had a long-term drinking problem. However, not considering a liver destroyed by alcohol and assuming a normal immune system, I would rather take a vac shot and lessen my chance of contracting the disease from eating out of communal bowls with chopsticks in this Hep endemic country....it's your choice to do the opposite. Hep is potentially fatal and, at the least, could dramatically , possibly permanently, reduce my standard of living. Also, alcohol damaged livers don't put you more at risk of being infected with Hep, they just allow the virus to replicate and present more serious and advanced symptoms quicker and more easily once it's been contracted the usual way. Try google if you need references for that.

I do chose not to receive a flu shot because, as you say, my health and age put me at low risk of mortality should I contract it. A week or so of discomfort and I'll likely be fine. I may end up having killed some babies and old people that I passed the flu to because I was strong enough to survive without protection from a vaccination and they weren't so call me selfish....

If I can reduce (significantly) my chances of dying from a disease by getting a shot, then that's what I choose to do....you can refuse all the vaccinations you like. I'll be sure to nominate you and all the people you convert for a Darwin Award.....

There still is no evidence that vaccinations lower the incidence of disease.

There is mounting evidence that vaccinations and medication kill more people than the Vietnam war every year in America alone.

I never made a reference to vaccinations for the common cold. I was talking about medicine such as cold medicine.

Taking medicine is a road towards bad health as there is so many ill effects that they choose to call side-effects.

Medicine and vaccinations usually have a negative effect rather than a positive effect. You have received propaganda for so long you will fight to protect your beliefs.

Why do people feel the need to protect western medicine?

Western medicine is useful for last ditch efforts in times of crisis but is a very bad path to promote health.

One should keep health in his own hands and not give his power away to people who pretend to help you in the name of science.

Health has so many facets. I wish we could take a magic pill or shot but they actually cause more than good.

It's too bad that the people who assist us with health need to have products to sell us to make cash.

Like I said, it's your choice. Go ahead and eat your organic veggies, do your push-ups and hope for the best while you discuss all your 9/11, JFK, Big Brother, multinational corporation, alien-abduction conspiracy theories over a carefully moderated number of drinks with Elvis........I'll take the shots.

Getting back to the point,

You definiitely want Hep A before coming here, cause they are going to push raw fish on you. But the trick is to get two Hep A shots within a year. Then you get protection lasting for 10 years or so.

Don't assume vaccinations are cheaper here. If you are on a health plan, they might be cheaper at home.

An adult booster to polio is probably a good idea, ask your doctor.
