I recently heard scientists were able to breed a creche of mice using the sperm of one male mouse and an egg implanted with the dna of another male mouse to create baby mice with two fathers.

If you can't think, at least you can be vulgar.

That's not really vulgar (C'mon yata boy, you used to have a sense of humor.) It's barely amusing.

Vermont legalizes gay marriage with veto override

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) -- Vermont on Tuesday became the fourth state to legalize gay marriage - and the first to do so with a legislature's vote.

The House recorded a dramatic 100-49 vote, the minimum needed, to override Gov. Jim Douglas' veto. Its vote followed a much easier override vote in the Senate, which rebuffed the Republican governor with a vote of 23-5.

Vermont was the first state to legalize civil unions for same-sex couples and joins Connecticut, Massachusetts and Iowa in giving gays the right to marry. Their approval of gay marriage came from the courts.

This is the most important one of the four since it's through the legislature.

I was kind of astounded at the hypocrisy of the governor who said: "What really disappoints me is that we have spent some time on an issue during which another thousand Vermonters have lost their jobs," the governor said Tuesday. "We need to turn out attention to balancing a budget without raising taxes, growing the economy, putting more people to work." If he really thought it was a waste of time, why did he veto it and force the legislature to spend time to override it? Is it ever a waste of time to do the right thing?

The Iowa Supreme Court opinion, by the way, is extremely well written. I advise anyone interested in Equal Protection Doctrine to read it. It is very accessible.
