I find it very hard to believe the stat for Canada... honestly wtf? I live in Ontario and the media hardly report anything of that sort. I blame Albertafags. And Harper. And his kids. |

It's probably far higher in many of the countries for rapes. Imagine the stats if they were all reported. I bet Korea would rank higher if they were reported. Many girls probably don't, as it brings shame to them. |

The rape numbers don't make sense. The US has ten times the population of Canada and only four times the rapes? Canada's not that screwed up. |

You're assuming that no other country has a unreported rape problem as bad as Korea, which is absurd.
1. Rape brings "shame" to girls in every country, not just Korea. It's not like any woman is going to be proud of being raped.
2. There are some countries where the police are completely ineffectual, so why bother reporting at all. Zimbabwe comes to mind as an example. |

This is quite true, which makes the rankings all the more fascinating and confusing. It's difficult to discern a clear pattern of exactly why some countries are where they are. |

I'll take them over the tactics employed in the U.S. any day and twice on Sunday. And we still have areas that are so unsafe I wouldn't enter them after dark if my life depended on it. How is THAT for ineffectual? |

Actually, I think the police in Korea are very, very effective. |
