NO, I will lower myself more than you, (LOL, what's with this machoistic talk. Just because I don't agree with how you swindle won from other people I am some how inferior to you?)

| If you look at prices on play-asia.com or in Yongsan, the prices of new video games have gone up very much because of the exchange rate to US and Japan. |
Ok, then why would I want to buy used from you then when I could get new with a warranty in Yongsan? Anyway, the point is if 2 people in Korea are using won, the exchange rate doesn't effect them so long as the prices stay the same. Telling someone to buy something used from you just adds to it. Not only would they give you more money, but they would get it used.
I recently bought a used iPod Nano, 4th generation. It's 100,000 won more than in the states. However, I didn't pay 100,000 won more for it than I felt I should have.

| I used to buy games on play-asia.com and in Yongsan for 40,000 won, and now they are 70,000 - 90,000 won new. |
Why buy used from you then if they can go to Yongsan and get new? Someone already commented on this in this thread that they could buy "most of this for under 500,000." |

Not lower myself to you, but lower myself to getting caught up in a dumb debate on this forum.
Because of the strong yen and dollar, a new XBOX 360 WITHOUT a HD, second controller, HD cables, headset ... anything, is just under 400,000 won. Bundles start at 500,000 and go up 650,000. I was just in Yongsan and price-checked it.
Fallout 3: 68,000 new
Dead Space: 68,000 new
GTA4: 62,000 NTSC UC US ver, 108,000 UTSC Japan new (I have the Japan ver)
Left 4 Dead: 68,000 new
Star Wars: Force Unleashed: 68,000 new
Guitar Hero 3 w/ GUITAR: Hard to find now, but was 90,000 new when I bought it.
And those are just the newer games I'm selling. If you add everything up that I'm selling and divide it in half, it's still MUCH more than 430,000 won.
Like I said before, I don't expect anyone to buy it as a package, but I don't want to go through the hassle of selling stuff individually. Perhaps I'll have more luck selling it on a Korean website ^^ |

| Not really. Most Koreans, like us, will just buy the back up games that cost 10,000 each. Why pay 68,000 for a game, when 10,000 works just as good. Koreans are more likely than us to tear you apart non this |

Suppose you bought a game for 40,000 Won last year. Just because the won went weak, its current price is 70,000 Won. Does this entitle you to sell the game at 40,000 or say 50,000 Won, and claim that it is still a bargain for a new buyer.
It maybe still be a reasonable deal for a new buyer. But you are simply cashing on a weak won situation. Maybe 430,000 won is less than 50% of the Current cost. But did you pay 860,000++ won for everything. I guess not.
If this were true, then I guess everyone who bought stuff before the Won-Crash should sell in the current situation and Cash on their investments. I think its about ethics. You should consider how much you invested and how much depreciation is acceptable based on your usage.
No problem in you trying to justify the cost in current market scenario, but i think its not the right thing to say. |

If only the world were perfect I guess I should feel guilty about buying houses in America right now because the economy there is bad? Or investing in real estate here because the price of housing is low?? Not only my livelihood, but the fundamentals of every free world market is based on the idea that you buy low and sell high. I guess you could argue capitalism is bad, but it is what it is.
Anyway, I digress, and this has gone way off topic, but the posts have been enlightening. I feel much better about my life than I did before! The comments have spoken for themselves. |

You have every right to think this way, and if it really does make you feel better about your life, I am glad it's not mine. Buyer beware. There are others who aren't trying to sell their stuff for profit.
On a side note, if you are trying to sell your stuff for more than you paid as in your house example and philosophy that you should buy low and sell high, then I wouldn't be surprised if someone managing this site asks you to pay them for basically advertising your goods. I feel there is an unspoken rule about this Buy/Sell section that people post things they are selling to get rid of their stuff, not to make a profit. However, I am not trying to convince you to think this way too, just sharing my philosophy. |

A smart buyer of used products looks at 2 prices:
1) The price being offered on the used product.
2) The market price for the new good.
The buyer shouldn't care what the seller paid for it. If the buyer NEEDS or REALLY WANTS the item, then they should be thankful to find it at a lower price. If they don't like the price, then go buy it new.
Being stubborn = losing money. |
