Just wondering if anyone knows anywhere in Seoul to get Custom Orthotics. I have flat feet and wore out my old ones. Preferably English speaking but I'll take anything I can get.

Good luck. If u find somewhere I would love to know. Just spent a frustrating few weeks trying to get any kind of arch support. The doc just told me to go to 'a medical supply shop. There's sure to be one in Jongno'...hmmm.

Anyhow if you can compromise with a non custom support I recommend

Thanks. I need something bigger though. My feet are terribly flat, and I kept buying off the shelf orthotics in Canada because I couldn't afford the $400 custom ones. I've noticed so many things in Korea are cheaper though so hopefully there is a place to get them done. How easy it will be for a foreigner to do it is another question...

I have the $400 orthotics, and while they make a bit of a difference, I still have a lot of pain at the end of the day. I have plantar fascitis...guess it's surgery when I get back to the states Sad
Good luck on your search

If your flat are feet does this cause pain when walking? What are the purpose of orthotics? Alleviate pain and/or correct posture?

Rehabbing a broken foot at the moment, thus the immense curiosity.

I had a friend who is a nurse ask some of her coworkers. None of them really knew anywhere you could get custom orthotics. Someone posted that Seoul government information line.. you can call to get an English speaker and make a complaint, ask a question, etc. might try that. Alternatively could try asking at one of the English clinics at the hospitals. Perhaps they have a foot doctor on staff who speaks english who might know.

Both really, without an arch it leads to pain in your ankles, knees and eventually works it way up the body. Orthotics align your feet properly, which prevents chronic pain in your joints.

Thanks for asking, I'm having a hard time coming up with anything at all. I can't find that Seoul Information Line number, can you post it if you can please?
