And just how did the Supremes get that out of what the Founding Fathers wrote? |

You know that it refers to shouting "fire" when there is actually no fire, right? |
Which thought shows the illogic. Free speech limitations imply a condition of prior restraint to prevent speech based on content. This prohibition either is an absolute restriction or, if based on some subjective criteria, must be overseen by some regulatory body to determine if it is allowed.
"Wait. Don't yell. Call the Department of Speech Regulation and see if the current fire is one that is large enough under the Shouting Fire in a Crowded Theater act. Get the forms: please report: theater size, crowd size, date of fire, size of fire in area and volume, density levels of smoke, heat measured at the perimeter, heat measured in the interior ..."
Free Speech was intended and should be absolute. There in no need and no logical basis upon which to restrict freedom of speech. |

The right-wingers behind all this completely manufactured 'tax protest' are the folks who want all the benefits of living in a nice, free, democratic, orderly country, but they seem to want to do their part to pay for it *only* when times are good.
It just doesn't work that way.
In 8 years their boy took us from record surpluses to record deficits and a tanking economy, expanded gov't the most since FDR, got us into 2 nasty unending wars, continued wrecking the environment and eroding the bill of rights, damaged a great deal of previously good relationships with the rest of the world, the list goes on and on and on.
This is what Obama inherited and is trying to fix. And this 'tax protest' is what they come up with.
I was hoping to see a new, smarter GOP come out of their butt-whooping last Nov.
I have now come to the conclusion that the GOP simply isn't fit to govern at any level in this country. |

Spending your way out of debt doesn't work either. It doesn't work for businesses, it doesn't work for families and I sure as hell don't expect it to work for something as corrupt and inept as the U.S. government.
By the way, from all of the news reports I've seen people are just as disgusted at Bush as they are at Obama. In fact, probably moreso at Bush. Expanded government and out of control spending are 2 of many bad things Bush will be remembered for. Most people at these "tea parties" would agree that they should have started protesting long, long ago.
The tea parties are about the frustration that people are feeling on every level. They are frustrated about the D.C. politicians being so disconnected with citizens. They're frustrated with the seemingly endless bailouts. They are frustrated with the stimulus package because no one actually has any clue if it will work. And how could they? They didn't even read it before voting on it!! And they're frustrated with an expanding government that started long before Obama. Alot of their frustration does seem to be aimed at Obama because they feel he is just digging the hole deeper.
Anyway, the protesters have every right to be pissed off. All Americans should be pissed off, not just for the tax issue, but for a lot of things. |

These protests, including tea bags and teaparties, have been going on for more than 35 years. They have had sporadic national coverage and some local coverage over the years. Thousands of people have always come out at post offices and other locations, and been ignored by a media that prefers pro-big-government movements.
The difference this year is the increased coverage by the media, and how elected officials (mostly Rs but some Ds as well) are following the cameras. |

It just goes to show that the media really dropped the ball on this. The way they would ridicule the event with sexual references is immature at best. Its like they cannot stand those pesky "peasant folks" standing up to big government - as if we're not allowed to have an opinion unless we agree with them. |

The media seem to be making the protests look more extreme than they are. surprise. The media is neither left or right, but pro-government.

| Susan Roesgen is her name. Hot Air has been on it as seen here, here, and here. It's amazing to watch what happens when the press descends down to the abyss of Middle America. |

Here are some teabagers who don't believe Obama is American:

Seriously though I have no problem with Libertarians at these things. They are against truly opposed to big government. Republicans are not. |
