Has anyone been there recently? They used to advertise on Facebook, but now I can't find their information anywhere.
I just read in Men's journal that a massage can boost your immune system by 60% and since I'm travelling India soon, I thought it would be a good idea. I have googled them but turning up nothing |

It's probably because of an overreliance on techniques like "healing hands" that India is so overrun with disease in the first place. At least, I'm assuming the name means that they believe that they can transfer power to you just by the laying of hands.
If you hear the word Reiki, walk out the door and don't look back. |

i go about once a month. it's thai massage i'm pretty sure. heres the site
www.healinghands.co.kr/
personally i love that place. back in the states, whenever i asked for deep tissue massage i practically had to sign a waiver to get them to do it. they dont mess around here. and i like that the time is a full hour instead of 50 min. the only bad thing is there are just 2 small rooms and they have cloth doorways instead of actual doors. its not such a big deal except sometimes on the weekends. they also have a stand up tanning thing, and some people who come in to wait seem to forget that its supposed to be a relaxing massage place. basically try to be quiet when waiting so you dont interrupt other peoples massages. the owner is great. speaks english and he's really nice. i highly recommend. |

No happy endings or full service. These Thai massage places are legit. There is a Thai massage place near me as well, but it seems cheaper. It's 70,000 for 90 minutes or 90,000 for 2 hours. Really pricey, still compared to Thailand mind you. Look around, there are probably other places around the city that are a better deal. |

Price is not my main worry - convenience and service are far more important to me. |

Thai massage is too rough. If you have tendons or ligaments that are at risk they could damage them. I have witnessed so many people damaged by Thai massage. Stick with a nice oil massage swedish style. |

How busy do they get usually?
the full body massage and Foot Care Package (Dead skin removal followed by a Paraffin wax treatment) sounds good
but their hours are only 12:30pm ~ 9pm and there are only two rooms with two beds in each room.
How many people work there? 4?
and how many customers usually go there?
for example if I went there at 7pm - during the week - would there be people waiting and maybe no time for me?
if I went there at 1pm - on Saturday or Sunday - would there be people waiting and maybe no time for me?
is there usually a waiting period - or are they not that busy?
or is it by reservation only? |

sorry it took me awhile to post back on this. during the week its not as busy. the other day i called in sick (duvet day!) and on a whim called to see if there was an opening. there was. the weekends are busier, and the owner complained to me once about all the people going there just for tanning cuz they were loud and people are trying to relax. but, its super easy to make an appt form their website. you just send a message and the owner calls you to confirm. tell him the day and time and what type and done. i've never just walked in and asked. but i dont live right in seoul.
i've only ever seen 3 people work at one time. the owner, and two other ladies. probably more than that and they switch off.
the foot wax thing was ok. i mean, its just wax on your foot and then they peel it off. the heat was nice but i dont think it really did much for my feet. they usually ask if you want deep tissue or relaxing. i go for the deep tissue. i have serious muscle issues. i love it. the owner did my massage last time and he said he was impressed that it didn't hurt. ok well some of it did, but it feels so good afterward i don't even care. i endure. must...get...more...massages... |

My wife is a certified Thai massage therapist, and we will be moving up to Seoul this fall. Down here she usually only works on women, mostly because most men refuse to believe this is NOT a "full-service provider". I am not sure exactly where we will be living, but she will be looking to increase her client base.
The person above who wrote Thai massage is bad for ligaments and joints must have experienced a bad therapist. Nothing my wife does could be considered even close to harmful. |

Korean yakson (약손), which is literally "medicine (healing) hands", was founded by Lee Dong-hyeon (83). He is still very active and teaching his technique not far from the Nambu Terminal.
He wrote books on the subject and my wife and I will be helping with the English translation. A week ago, we visited his place to discuss the book with him. We were both given yakson by him and his apprentice (40 minutes). It was really something. My biggest problem is I am quite ticklish, so it took all the patience I had when it came to pressing on my sides
His website is http://www.yakson.org/ |

Dude.
I'm gonna have nightmares about the dolls in the upper corner of the main page. Those are beyond creepy. |
