Hey I'm going to be visiting Korea next month and I'll be in Seoul. I plan on stopping in a hostel in Hongdae.

I was wondering if anyone had any good places I should hit up in terms of nightlife. I'll be travelling alone. So I'd like to find a place where it'd be cool to meet some people in a similar situation or travellers. I'm 19 so I don't know how out of place I'll be. I hope to make some friends in the hostel but would also like to know some bars / clubs with a good atmosphere where it's quite laid back. Anything with live music is a bonus. Also are cheap hotels available and plentiful? I'd hate to be out in another part of town and then find it's really expensive to get back.

One last thing is, are places good to visit on weekdays or is it best to leave this thing until the weekends? Appreciate any info Smile

Cheers

You're staying in Hongdae? I don't know, that's kind of a quiet area...

There is all kinds of nightlife there.

Here's a map of some clubs that play live music.

It shouldn't be too hard to meet some people.

Good luck.

Hongdae is one of the best areas for nightlife, not sleazy like Itaewon. go to a bar and ask some ex pats for some recommendations for nightclubs etc.

Thanks alot guys, good to hear it's got nightlife. Is it far from itaewon? No doubt I'll want to take a look there, even if it is sleazy Smile
