Has anyone here had an interview with SMOE or is currently working for them? Would be great if you could give me feed back or tips on what to expect. Thanks!

If you have a teaching degree or experience you'll be fine.

For your interview, they'll phone you up and ask you a few questions. Things like 'how will you adjust to having a co-teacher' and 'what's your teaching philosophy' etc.

I dont know if they ask everyone the same questions, but they're not difficult to answer. Just be respectful ('I will work hard with my co-teacher to plan our lessons and I will always respect his/her opinion'). There are many SMOE teachers with various degrees so as long as you have all your ducks in a row you should be fine.

good luck

And never admit to any legal trouble unless it is on your criminal record. Even things like traffic tickets are suspect and may make you "unworthy."

If Jon Pak interviews you, don't take it personally if he demeans you. He's just a *beep*.

Jon Park's awesome. He takes some getting used to, but he's a very, very decent guy. He's one of the few genuine people I've met at SMOE.

What a joke, you must be a personal friend. Do some searching on here and talk with SMOE NSETs that have dealt with him. The consensus is clear about his attitude, communication, and professionalism.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, LOL

In my own personal experience, as well as those of my close friends, everyone of us who has dealt with Jon agrees that he's an asshat of the 3rd degree... Condescending, aggrogant, and usually has absolutly no idea what he's talking about...

As for the OP: If you had an interview with your recruiter and passed, you'll be fine... Chances are the SMOE interview will be less than 5 minutes and your interviewer won't ask more than 3 questions...

I don't have any teaching experience, teaching degree etc.

My recruiter told me my interviewer will be "Jon" or "Rachel". I guess I'm hoping it'll be Rachel with all the negative reviews of the former.

Oh well I hope I make it anyways.
