I'm planning on giving my 30 day notice (per contract) to my public school. I have another job lined up at a private in a different city.

Do I need a LOR (letter of release) to obtain a new e-2 visa? And by obtain I mean submitting paperwork and doing a visa run. I'm assuming if I give my 30 days my employer will just cancel my visa once the contract is terminated.

Also, will the new employer contact the old employer? I think that my last 30 days would be a lot worse off if they knew I was leaving for something better, versus just leaving.

if my only answer can be a simple yes or no, then i second meerkatlover's answer just because it you want it kept short and not necessarily accurate.

Well, I would prefer accurate. Just hoping it was as easy as a simple yes/no. Mad

it's never a simple yes/no in this country - that is the first thing everyone should learn

I can give you two simple yes/no answers:
maybe yes;
maybe no. Wink
