It's hard to explain, but once you get onto the right street it's easy to find. If you know that big intersection where the parking lot street meets the street coming from the park, it's the small street that runs parallel to the northern part of the parking lot street.

I have to say Korean metal is pretty kick ass. I was pretty surprised when I first heard it. Search on facebook for the Korean metal group. There's noramlly 2-3 metal shows per month, often more.
The place I've seen metal is at Sapiens 7 in Hongdae. |

| Metal is a genre that comes easily to Koreans. Same goes for hardcore. I always find it strange how these harder sounds appeal particularly to girls at shows. The problem with metal though is it doesn't quite have the same social scene as punk does. |

I didn't know music needed a social scene... Did Chopin need a social scene to create good music? What about Coltrane...Muddy Waters...Miles Davis...etc..etc.
I don't usually have too many problems with punk musicians...there's some great songs/bands I even dig. The one thing I don't get is how they always crap on other music because of its lack of "social scene." Like an overglorified club that you have to belong to.... |

Since someone else was asking, this is why it's good to have a music community. There are people to ask about shows. Clubs are opened dedicated to it. I'm not sure who owns Sapiens7 but they might not necessarily be into metal. |
