| My gf says you can actually get it over the counter at a pharmacy, not sure which brands they have here though and if that makes a difference. |

| Get an IUD. They're common, safe, and effective. Plus they last 5 years. Your gyno can insert one in under an hour. |

Mirena, a progesterone based IUD, is good for 5 years.
A straight, no hormone IUD is good for 10. |

Intra-Uterine Device. Basically a copper coil (the non hormone one).. but mirena is plasticky. You put it in your uterus and it stays in place (one hopes) for many years without you having to think about contraception again.
The initial investment is high - mine was 400K (mirena. copper coil is much cheaper), but it's lasting me 5 years, so that's 80K a year, and around 6,700 won a month, which is still a bit cheaper than the pill.
The only thing about it is that if you've not had kids before, the insertion could be painful. Mine was put in 6 weeks after my daughter was born and I felt nothing. Not the case for everyone, of course, but for me it was. |

Pretty sure this was discussed before and am pretty sure that, yes, you can get it in Korea. |

| I use Mercilon - it's actually an Irish brand which means that the instrictions are in English as well. I get it at the local pharmacy for 6500 won/pack. |

My insertion was extremely painful. But I also haven't had a *real* period in 4.5 years. So maybe the pain (you know, menstrual), like the price, averages out over time too.
Ok, here is a story, kind of unrelated but worth sharing. I had my IUD inserted at my university health center. The insertion fee was $150 USD, but my mirena was free since I am poor. Anyway, before she got started, she asked me if it would be okay if a student observed the process. Always one willing to help out, I agreed. Of course, said student was a 28 year old male, handsome. Great. As I noted, the process was extremely painful for me (I've never had any kids). So, I try distracting myself using the Fight Club method. Which, of course, I share this with the male observer as my gyno is poking around my uterus with a fish hook. "Penguins, eh?" Pretty sure they are thought I was cheese crackers.
I just like sharing my private humiliations with strangers. |

Ok, I asked that wrong. Let me try again. I meant, what is the Korean name, because the yak-guk I went to did not understand Depo-Provera, though I may not have said it Konglishly enough. Also, does anyone know how much it runs and will I need a RX or can I get it over the counter? |

I too have an IUD, and it was free for me because I'm british. The NHS is good for something.
It was also quite painful, but only for a day or so, like heavy period pain. I have the 10 year one, and my periods were much heavier and more painful for the first year. Now they have returned to normal and I have no period pain.
Definitely much better than taking the pill everyday, and more reliable. |

This is Korea. You should learn about Korean culture when living in Korea.
I believe " When in Rome do as the Romans do" is a good proverb for this situations. Koreans don't have premaritual sex. They have sex only after marriage. Remember you are a teacher you should set a good example. How do you know your students don't live in the same building as you. What do you think they will think that you use that building kindly provided to you from your kind Korean boss to live a digusting despicable
filthy vulgar immoral and socially repugnant lifestyle that you do.
You should find the nearest church and repent. You should also learn more about Korean culture. |
